What Was Your First ?

Hi guys,

Sorry for not being extremely active got exams all this week
So I haven't been posting lots, anyways as its study leave and I haven't gotta be in until like 13:00 pm... so I thought I'd post a few new threads and maybe add more sections to try and get this going.

Anyways back to the point of this thread, what was your first tarantula? that triggered off the addiction xD
Mine was a bargain and is a stunner an adult female Brachypelma Smithi + Tank etc delivered for £5.
Lets hear what yours was.

My first was my demon rosea RCF, bought from spidershop.

It was swiftly followed by a B. boehmei juvenile and an E. campestratus sling.

I belive Grammostola Rosea RCF are or have been renamed due to them being a different species I heard? I have 13 of them myself lol xD

My first was three Brachypelma smithi spiderlings from The Tarantula Barn. They were a lot smaller than I thought so I swapped them for a juvenile Brachypelma smithi and a Brachypelma albopilosum.

i fell in love with a Grammostola rosea in our local shop, couldnt understand why com im s--t scared of them... but she was just so different, not what i expected.. if you can understand that..??!!
i went back the next day and got her, now i cant stop

Mine was my Golden Knee. She was a present from Jamie in the RFUK gift swap. I was one of the few that did not recieve a gift so Jamie stepped in and sent me Coco

Mine was a G. aureostriata 2" juvenile from my local petshop... still got her now at about 5" legspan. Gorgeous spider!

mine was my B.smithi, a friend gave her to me after i had been coooing at her for about a year, and his missus told him he had to cut his collection down LOL.
a week after he gave her to me, i pilfered 6 more off of him ^_^

Mine was a G. rosea all the way back last millenium, when they were actually classified as Grammostola spatulata or Grammostola cala, I got mine from pets at home (part of the focus DIY shops), when they still sold exotics. He matured and sadly I decided not to send him out for breeding because I was silly and didn't want to lose him as he was my first. Lasted for 2 years in his ultimate moult though.

My first was a B.Smithi and A.Geniculata

B.smithi Voodoo who is a girlie and just recovering from spending 4 months in ITU

Yups that is the little monster hehehe. Am glad shes sorta ok now. Shame about the wierd leg but its better than how she was

Yeah, the leg will probably be sorted next moult, or maybe even in a few days after it hardens up some more, may be a lack of blood circulation.

Definatley getting the Peru,Metalica and Metallic green now, and 99% sure on two Avicularia avicularia and two from Peter(haplos)

Mine was chromatopelma cyaneopubicens aka the green bottle blue, I just loved the colours and mentioned on a forum that i would love one, then came a PM saying i have one do you want one, so i ripped hia arm off lol

My first were Chile Rose and Curly Hair .

My first T was my Brachypelma smithi (see avatar) Got her at the BTS show last year including tank from the nice people at tarantulabarn. She didn’t half give me a fright though, less than 5mins after I left the BTS show she had flipped on her back and started to moult! Had to hold her tank as steady as I could on the car journey back home. What a little madam

My first was a nice young lady about 6 foot high, blue eyes

mine was an a.genic that has recently matured and had to part with hes a bit restless looking for some love so i thought it would be best

P.Murinus or H.Lividium, got them a day after each other but cant remember which was first.

I got my first spid about 16 yrs ago which was a good ol G Rosea NCF I named him Ronnie but then 2 weeks later came home to find "him" holding an eggsac so changed name to Roxy. Now i have 72 spids so BEWARE you WILL get addicted. Space is my only restriction at the mo lol

I now tend to keep the Dark side of spiders

I now want something along the line of phoneutria species but the law won't let me
