Re: Gah Brachyssss......
I'm sorry to hear that. I really don't get what you could be doing wrong as they are almost bulletproof. What sort of conditions do you keep them in? I'm sure you keep them perfectly to the book, so I'm stumped!

Re: Gah Brachyssss......
what was the temperature? what were they kept in? and what size were they?
And have you seen any evidence of parasites, external or internal? have you,may be, noticed an influx of mites perhaps?
I'm sure you had them right but this has sort of got my interest.
if your other tarantula's are fine I would conclude that there isn't a problem with your feeder stock. It has been known for contaminated crickets to partially wipe out peoples collections.

Thing is a friend who also keeps Ts fetches my livefood so i know its not that. They are kept the same as my Grammies. All temps etc are fine iv had numerous tarantula people over to have a look and nothing. All Ts were from different sources originally too. No mites etc but surely that would of contaminated my other Ts?

Re: Gah Brachyssss......
you would have thought so.
well i'm stumped then! but this situation would have alarm bells ringing in my head. Although it isn't unusual to lose a few specimens in a short time once in a while, to have so many of the same species go at once is quite alarming.
however it just might be a stroke of bad luck. sorry i cant be of more help hun xx

Theres nothing wrong with my conditions Dan and people regularily come over to look. If it was the water then Dan and Sylvi would lose their collections.

Wasn't meant in a nasty way, just suggesting that there must be something wrong or you wouldn't be losing the animals like you are.selina20 wrote:Young_Gun wrote:Must be something up with your conditions then I would suggest.selina20 wrote:Young_Gun wrote:All slings?

Re: Gah Brachyssss......
I don't know what Voodoo is?
Like I said, I was just suggesting there must be something up for you to be loosing the animals like you are, didn't mean anything by it other than an observation.
Do you live near any farmland/open fields etc?
A friend in Devon was recently losing animals left right and centre with no explanation and it turned out that it could have been attributed to a farmer using gas on rabbit warrens in a field near him.

Re: Gah Brachyssss......
Hmmm I wonder if it has something to do with a change in air pressure. How long has this been going on ? I know my spiders do strange things when the air pressure changes .

Re: Gah Brachyssss......
Did you keep the brachys in the same area as your other spids? I can only imagine it could be down to bad luck or wondered if they are near cedarwood maybe? Cant think of anything else that it could be other then bad luck :-( SOmtimes it happens like that, could be bad genes etc
