Prices of T's
Just wondering if anyone could help me with T prices?
Been offered a Grammastola sp 'Red Concepcion' and a Guatemalan Blue with setups for £20 each. Both T's are believed to be palm sized.
Is this a good price?
Chris.

Not bad prices tbh, you could ask if they would make it a little cheaper if you wanted if you bought the lot and see what they say? worth a shot imo

I don't like to be cheeky though and it is from a friend of mine, who I absolutely trust, so I hope they wouldn't take the michael but just wanted other opinions as I'm still fairly new to keeping T's.

Here they are from the spider shop .

So it all depends on the set-ups .

Re: Prices of T's
i'd say that's a pretty decent price...as i'm sure you can see, they cost more than £20 each at the spidershop...i paid the normal price and am happy.
oh be warned though, if the sp "Blue" turns out to be anything like mine...it's a complete and utter psycho!
i've rehoused more cooperative H maculata and P cambridgei!
not that mine was "aggressive" or bitey...but just so ridiculously skittish it ran as soon as i got the lid off and shot over my shoulder onto my back! i had to tub the bloody thing in the mirror! maybe they chill with age, i can only hope so! great spiders though, just don't spook it!

Re: Prices of T's
Come with glass tanks. May have to have a rethink on the Blue then as I'm still a bit new to the keeping of T's.
I thought the Aphonopelmas were fairly good starter T's?
What do you think are good spiders for beginners? Currently have Chile Rose, Mexican Red Knee, Blood Leg and Red Leg and looking to expand a little.
Thinking about a Vagans and a Boehemi, been told that Aivcs are good too.
Chris.

Re: Prices of T's
come on, live a little!
...though it must be said i consider C darlingi good starter T's (easy to care for, good to learn respect from!)
generally Aphonopelma's from America and Mexico are great "starter" T's in the sense they are slow going and fairly hard to annoy (though it's possible!), but those from Central America like seemanni, crinirufum and sp "Blue" tend to be more skittish. mind i don't say defensive! they run but i've yet to see much fight.
they are great though, if you give it respect and don't make sudden movements, they're good feeders and grow alot faster than the American ones.

If you ask me, prices are rediculous these days, spiders should just be free!

Re: Prices of T's
I always look around at the forums and shops for prices to get an idea of what they cost, but more prone to impulse buying anyway . I bought 3 of the Guatemalan Blue's from the Spider shop and they are said to be docile and that they may be but also lightening fast too! I have never had a T that was that fast, just be careful when re-homing them and you will be fine. I love the aggressive ones but with respect and being really careful they are really no problem either. Good luck with your collection you have just started, you will be counting them in the 10's soon it's a very addictive hobby!
