Tonights her lucky night but maybe not his!!!

This is my female Ornithoctonus Aureotibialis who is getting mated tonight, she is a rather huge specimen at about 8inch + leg span

Hope your males got protection, ideally some body armour?

Well he got out alive. Have it all filmed and will edit it down and post it on here when done. I am going to try them again in a few days time too just to make sure.

She's a big girl , the males lucky she wasn't hungry . He'd of stood no chance of getting away on his own otherwise . Good luck , hopefully you'll get a nice and healthy eggsac .

Just seen the female out and about and her abdomen is getting bigger.
This has confused me as i only mated them last Monday.

She can't be gravid yet........ can she?

Well its been ten days since i mated her and she is looking fat and bumpy in the abdomen area which is a big surprise for me. She is also blocking up her burrow.
Here is a picture we got whilst she was covering her burrow up , sorry bout the quality as we had to basically get what we could and this is the best we could get without disturbing her.
